AISI 304
The standard stainless grade for most dry food products, with good corrosion resistance at a moderate cost.
Industries
Hygienic design and safe contact materials, for products that reach the consumer directly.
Our approach
Unlike other industries, in food the end product is easy to recognise: sugar, coffee, flour, nuts, granulated chocolate. That does not make the technical demands any lighter — quite the opposite: as well as drying, cooling or granulating correctly, the equipment has to meet hygiene and food-safety requirements that simply do not exist elsewhere.
Hygienic design
EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) is the European reference for the hygienic design of food equipment. These are the criteria we apply:
Geometry that leaves nowhere for product or soil to build up.
An internal finish that is easy to clean and holds no residue.
Quick access to the surfaces that touch the product.
Stainless steels approved for food use, with no toxic coatings.

Needed where the product is more aggressive — salt, for instance — or where cleaning uses chlorine-based disinfectants: 316 stands up to that kind of chemical attack better than 304.
We don’t start from a default grade: the specific product — its salinity, its acidity, the cleaning protocol the plant uses — decides which steel is right.
